Re: What to look for in a new dough mixer

Geez Louise. Eight years at this and I never thought to look for bakery specific equipment suppliers in my area. I frequent a number of general restaurant supply spaces and never realized that there is a bakery equipment supplier right here in town: American Baking Systems (ABS). Even worse, I was at another pizzeria in town a while back and noticed their mixer and thought it looked pretty nice but I didn’t recognize the brand. They had an ABS mixer. I feel like a dunce.

Looks like their stuff it on the higher end, so I’m a bit scared to inquire about price. But at least I’ve got a good local starting point. Last year I had to order a handful of parts from Italy to service my mixer. It sure would have been nice to have just driven a couple miles across town.
