Famag owners – is this normal?

Hello, 

I picked up a Famag IM5 last month. Been loving it… except for one thing. There is a constant high-pitched sound coming from the machine whenever it is mixing. It looks to be around 8khz. 

The video below is a screencap I made while analyzing the audio from a recording. You can see me toggling on and off an eq filter at the target frequency, so you can easily hear the difference. 

I’d love to know if this is normal. It sure is an annoying sound. 

I sent the clip to PHG for their take, but I figured I’d get a few more opinions.
