Baking Steel sizing question

Hi All,

I am looking at upgrading my pizza stone to a pizza steel and have a question.  I have seen plenty of information about steel thickness but not as much about the width.  After measuring and measuring and measure, the width of my oven is 23 1/2″ and I have found a piece of steel that is 18″ deep and 22″ wide.  Does that an inch and a half gap give me enough ventilation in the oven? 

The gap would be 3/4″ for each side, none in the back and about 1/4″ in the front.

I know I could just cut it if I thought I wasn’t getting enough ventilation, but…I wanted to see what you all thought first!
