Gourmia GPM1260 pizza oven
The Gourmia GPM1260, purchased for $80 from Walmart. ( not to be confused with the GPM1270 sold at Target )
My goal thus far has been to bake a Neapolitan style pizza in 90 seconds. My initial conclusion has been that in it’s stock condition it’s not capable of baking a 90 second Neapolitan style pizza.
Most likely it could make almost any kind of pizza other than a 90 second Neapolitan pizza
So… I’m not the type to give up too easily and I love to tinker with things. The basic problem with the GPM1260 is that it really won’t actually maintain 800F even when it’s set to 800F. The upper heating element shuts off at around 750F, the stone would occasionally hit 770F or so but averaged closer to 730F.
Long story shorter… if you force the upper heating element to stay on full time, it can get up around 870F ( stone temperature ). I’ve been working with a variable voltage controller ( SCR ) to control the temperature closer to 825F without actually cutting the power off completely… a steady …
