The thermal cutoff fuse (inline with main AC input) blew after 4 or 5 pizzas. Sorry didn’t take pics, but they were good!
Glowing red top element throughout the bake with a switch-on warmup anout 3 minutes before launch. Stone ~800F. Top sensor around 900F.
Under 120 seconds, nice leoparding, great bakes!

Then the fuse went with the top sensor around 900F. Doing its job I suppose :)

The oven uses PID control with mechanical relays, you can hear them click on and off and the ammeter reads full on or full off. When the oven has run a while, the duty cycle starts flipping at around 10s on / 20s off on top, the temp goes down to 650-700ish, and you never get a decently hot top element again. Until you cycle main power and reset, then you get some heat back for a few minutes again.

The mystery is: what is causing the oven to behave this way? There must be something in the PID programming that is either:

1) dumb parameters, or
2) a kludge…
