That may be what “hack” means to you, but you’re just arguing semantics. The purpose of the calibration feature of an oven is intended to ensure that the temperature that is set on the controls matches the actual temperature inside the oven. The feature wasn’t designed nor was it intended for a home pizza maker to goose the controls so they can bake at a temperature higher than the stated maximum of the oven. There is a margin of error for safety built into the design, so I doubt there is a danger in doing this, but still this is using the feature for an unintended purpose. I.e. a hack.

I have no problem with you or anyone else doing this if the risks and issues are understood and accepted and it gets you the pizza you want. But more heat is not the solution to every pizza problem, including the the one that starte…
